Buddy L truck and metal toys were born from the industrial minds of Moline Pressed Steel Company in East Moline, Illinois. Moline Pressed Steel Company was a big player in the automotive industry and produced fenders and other stamped metal products from 1910-1920's . It wasnt Until the mid 1920's that the y began making the Buddy "L" metal toys we have come to love. The Moline Press Steel Company changed its name in 1930 to Buddy "L" Manufacturing Company and produced the quality metal toys up until World War II when steel was need to support the war.
